Athens

The capital of Greece, Athens, is a city thriving with culture, history and incredible sights. The restaurants aren't too shabby either. Start with a full day tour of Athens or do a self-guided tour, but make sure that you have a guide take you through the Acropolis. The history behind the ruins is incredible! One of my favorite activities was Dinner in the Sky, which offers its own incredible view of the Parthenon. Stroll through the plaka, eat a pita and don't forget to check out the Ancient Agora and Acropolis Museum.

Hydra

From Athens, take a two hour ferry to Hydra for a day or overnight for a beautiful little island with no cars. Once you get there take a swim by the Spilia swimming rocks, stroll through the quaint and narrow streets, and take a ride on a donkey. Hydra is a quiet place to get away from it all so bring your book and your walking shoes and be ready for beautiful sights.

Crete

Am I the only person who thinks Crete should be its own country? The culture and history has so much character and the island has so many unique traditions. Explore the many picturesque seaside villages: Chania, Rethymnon, Agios Nikolaos, Heraklion, so, so many. Don't forget to see the beaches like Elafonisi and Balos, plus the many historical sights, like my favorite, Knossos. If you are partial to caves there are so many, like the incredible Dikteon. The food is unforgettable, make the most out of every meal and order seafood, but make plenty of time for dinner because restaurant owners will woo you into staying late into the night with their local spirit, Raki.

Santorini

Have you heard of a little island called Santorini? Just kidding. The beautiful island with its white-washed buildings, blue domed churches and caldera deserves the praise it gets. But it's not without a cost- expect throngs of tourists stampeding through your breathtaking views. While you're here, rent an ATV to get around (the taxi options are sparse), check out the caldera and hot springs, visit the wineries and check out the incredible sunsets.
